Teammate Impact

The Teammate Impact tool shows how a player’s statistical output shifts depending on which teammates are in or out of the lineup. A star point guard being injured might boost a secondary ball-handler’s assists — or a rim-protecting center sitting out could inflate an opponent’s points in the paint. This tool quantifies those effects.

Navigate to “Herramientas” (Tools) in the sidebar and select “Impacto de Companeros” (Teammate Impact). The route is /tools/teammate-impact.

The engine compares a player’s per-game averages in games where a specific teammate played at least 10 minutes versus games where that teammate was absent. The difference reveals how dependent a player’s production is on specific lineup configurations.

  1. Search for a player — Type into the “Jugador” (Player) autocomplete search field and select a player from the dropdown.
  2. Select a stat category — Use the stat tabs to switch between “Puntos” (Points), “Rebotes” (Rebounds), “Asist.” (Assists), and “Triples” (Threes).
  3. Review teammate cards — The page displays a grid of cards, one per teammate who has meaningful with/without data.

The page title reads “Diff con/sin companero para {playerName}” and a subtitle explains: “Diferencia en {stat} del jugador cuando el companero juega (min 10 min) vs cuando no.”

Each card in the grid represents one teammate and contains the following information:

ElementDescription
Teammate nameBold header text showing the teammate’s name
Injury badgeA red “Fuera” badge appears if the teammate is currently injured or out
Diff valueThe stat difference — displayed in green with a + prefix when positive, red with a - prefix when negative
Stat unitLabel indicating which stat is being measured
BreakdownFormat: “con {avg} · sin {avg}” — shows the player’s average with and without this teammate
FooterFormat: “{N}g con · {N}g sin · {avg} min/g” — game counts and average minutes per game

A positive diff value (green, +) means the player averages more of that stat when the teammate is on the court. A negative diff value (red, -) means the player averages less when the teammate plays.

For example, if LeBron James shows +3.2 points with Anthony Davis, it means LeBron averages 3.2 more points per game when Davis plays compared to when Davis is out.

The Teammate Impact tool overlaps with the teammates section on the Player Research page. The research page shows the same with/without data in the context of a full player profile, while this standalone tool focuses exclusively on teammate effects with the stat tab switcher.
