Platform Overview
What is NBA Prop Lab?
Section titled “What is NBA Prop Lab?”NBA Prop Lab is a player props analysis platform for NBA and WNBA. It evaluates picks like “LeBron James Over 25.5 Points” through a data-driven scoring engine that combines statistical analysis, matchup context, market data, and external signals into a single actionable score.
PropLab helps bettors make informed decisions using statistical analysis rather than gut feeling. It is not a tipster service that tells you what to bet — it is an analytical tool that surfaces the strength of any player prop across multiple dimensions so you can decide for yourself.
Every pick is scored from 0 to 100 and classified into a rating tier. The higher the score, the stronger the data-driven edge the platform identifies.
The 7-Block Scoring Engine
Section titled “The 7-Block Scoring Engine”Each pick is evaluated through 7 independent analysis blocks. Every block examines a different dimension of the pick and produces its own score (0-100) along with a confidence level indicating how reliable its analysis is.
| Block | Weight | What It Analyzes |
|---|---|---|
| Player Profile | 25% | Season averages, recent trends (L5/L10/L15), consistency, minutes stability, usage rate, fatigue |
| Matchup | 20% | Opponent defense, DvP (defense vs position), pace, rim protection, head-to-head history |
| Synergy | 10% | Teammate injury impact, on/off court splits, usage shifts when key teammates are out |
| Game Context | 15% | Spread (blowout risk), total O/U, home/away, back-to-back, rival injuries, game importance |
| Market Line | 15% | Edge vs line, line movement, implied probability, multi-book consensus, expected value |
| Analysis Quality | 10% | Sample size adequacy, hit rate reliability, statistical confidence intervals |
| External Signals | 5% | Third-party projections and insider information when available |
Each block produces a score (0-100) and a confidence level. The final score is a confidence-weighted average — blocks with more reliable data carry more influence. If a block has limited data (for example, a player with only 3 games this season), its confidence drops and it contributes less to the final score.
The result is visualized as a spider (radar) chart on each pick card, showing where the pick is strong and where it is weak across all 7 dimensions.
Rating Tiers
Section titled “Rating Tiers”Based on the final score, each pick receives a rating tier:
- PREMIUM (score >= 63): The strongest picks identified by the engine. Historically averaging over 60% hit rate. Roughly 10-15 picks per day qualify at this level.
- STANDARD (score >= 60): Solid analysis with positive expected value. Roughly 40+ picks per day meet this threshold.
- Picks scoring below 54 are filtered out and not shown on the platform.
The thresholds are calibrated periodically against settled pick results to ensure the ratings remain meaningful over time.
NBA and WNBA
Section titled “NBA and WNBA”PropLab analyzes both NBA and WNBA player props. The league toggle on the dashboard (“NBA” / “WNBA” buttons) lets you switch between leagues. WNBA picks display an orange “WNBA” badge on their pick cards.
The same 7-block scoring engine runs for both leagues, with automatic adjustments for WNBA-specific factors like smaller sample sizes and different defensive data availability.
Subscription Tiers
Section titled “Subscription Tiers”PropLab offers Lite ($9/mo), Pro ($24/mo), and Sharp ($79/mo) tiers with increasing access to features. Free users can browse top picks daily with limited evaluations.
Each tier unlocks progressively more analytical tools, from basic pick browsing to full research panels, custom model building, and programmatic API access. See the Subscription Guide for full details.
